The total production indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production decreased by -15.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 51%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2020 to 2021, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in ASEAN
In 2021, overseas shipments of concentrated grapefruit juice increased by 123% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after four years of decline. In general, exports enjoyed a resilient expansion. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, concentrated grapefruit juice exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of export peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Thailand prevails in exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 87% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the Philippines (X tons), creating a 4.9% share of total exports. The following exporters - Malaysia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) - each resulted at a 6.5% share of total exports.
Exports from Thailand increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the Philippines (+32.7%) and Vietnam (+17.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +32.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Malaysia (-10.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam increased by +11, +4.2 and +1.8 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest concentrated grapefruit juice supplier in ASEAN, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 12% share.
In Thailand, concentrated grapefruit juice exports increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (+23.1% per year) and Malaysia (-5.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, falling by -10.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 66%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+5.6%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in ASEAN
In 2021, the amount of concentrated grapefruit juice imported in ASEAN dropped markedly to X tons, which is down by -33.7% against the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 85%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, concentrated grapefruit juice imports shrank to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Lao People's Democratic Republic was the key importing country with an import of around X tons, which amounted to 52% of total imports. The Philippines (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Indonesia (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 42% share of total imports. Thailand (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into Lao People's Democratic Republic increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Singapore (+15.7%), Vietnam (+13.7%) and the Philippines (+4.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Singapore emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +15.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Indonesia (-8.3%) and Thailand (-9.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Singapore, the Philippines, Lao People's Democratic Republic and Vietnam increased by +6.4, +5.1, +4.7 and +3.7 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported concentrated grapefruit juice in ASEAN, comprising 38% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by the Philippines, with a 15% share.
In Indonesia, concentrated grapefruit juice imports declined by an average annual rate of -5.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Lao People's Democratic Republic (-0.7% per year) and the Philippines (+13.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight decline. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
