There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while Myanmar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in ASEAN

After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of domestic electro-thermic appliances decreased by X% to X units in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw slight growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

In value terms, domestic electro-thermic appliances imports totaled $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2013 indices. Thailand was the major importer of domestic electro-thermic appliances in ASEAN, with the volume of imports accounting for X units, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2022. The Philippines (X units) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Singapore (X%), Vietnam (X%), Malaysia (X%) and Indonesia (X%). Myanmar (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Thailand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of domestic electro-thermic appliances. At the same time, Myanmar (X%), the Philippines (X%), Indonesia (X%), Vietnam (X%) and Malaysia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Myanmar emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Singapore (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
