While the share of Vietnam (+10 p.p.), the Philippines (+3 p.p.) and Singapore (+2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Malaysia (-4.9 p.p.), Indonesia (-5 p.p.) and Thailand (-5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest metal window and door supplier in ASEAN, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Vietnam, with an 11% share.

In Thailand, metal window and door exports expanded at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Malaysia (+2.6% per year) and Vietnam (+22.4% per year).

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 29%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 23%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
