Vietnam (X units) and Singapore (X units) dominates exports structure, together creating 91% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the Philippines (X units), making up a 6.4% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Vietnam (with a CAGR of +29.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, Singapore ($X) remains the largest electrical insulator supplier in ASEAN, comprising 28% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Singapore totaled -4.8%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (+4.1% per year) and the Philippines (+7.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per unit, waning by -62.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the export price increased by 59% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then declined notably in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while Vietnam ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (-2.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in ASEAN
In 2022, imports of electrical insulators in ASEAN declined sharply to X units, reducing by -24.9% against the previous year. Total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 74% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, electrical insulator imports shrank significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Thailand (X units) and Malaysia (X units) represented roughly 70% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Indonesia (X units) and Vietnam (X units), together committing an 18% share of total imports. Lao People's Democratic Republic (X units), Myanmar (X units) and the Philippines (X units) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Myanmar (with a CAGR of +45.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Thailand ($X), the Philippines ($X) and Malaysia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 68% of total imports. Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Lao People's Democratic Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.
Among the main importing countries, Myanmar, with a CAGR of +11.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in ASEAN stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -19.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 43% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per unit), while Malaysia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
