Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
In value terms, exports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, without fittings fell to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 57%. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

At the same time, the Philippines (+23.4%), Malaysia (+15.3%), Indonesia (+10.3%) and Singapore (+7.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +23.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Thailand (-1.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Vietnam (+20 p.p.), Malaysia (+4 p.p.) and the Philippines (+3.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Singapore and Thailand saw its share reduced by -4.1% and -23.9% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X) remains the largest flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, without fittings supplier in ASEAN, comprising 50% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 23% share of total exports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 9.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Vietnam stood at +16.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Singapore (+15.6% per year) and Malaysia (+10.9% per year).

Export price indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, without fittings increased by +5.0% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In general, imports, however, posted a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 41%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, imports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, without fittings declined modestly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +114.7% against 2012 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.
Imports by Country
Thailand was the largest importer of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, without fittings in ASEAN, with the volume of imports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 43% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons), together creating a 51% share of total imports. The Philippines (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Singapore, with a CAGR of +16.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in ASEAN stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 12% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a pronounced downturn.
