The countries with the highest volumes of production in 2022 were Indonesia (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons), with a combined X% share of total production. Thailand, Myanmar, Lao People's Democratic Republic and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of production, amongst the leading producing countries, was attained by Lao People's Democratic Republic (with a CAGR of X%), while production for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average yield of fruits in ASEAN contracted modestly to X tons per ha, with a decrease of X% compared with the previous year's figure. The yield figure increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, the yield reached the peak level of X tons per ha, and then dropped in the following year. Exports in ASEAN

In 2022, overseas shipments of fruits were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Total exports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by X% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, fruit exports declined to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Thailand (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) was the largest exporter of fruits in ASEAN, making up X% of total export. It was distantly followed by Cambodia (X tons), committing a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Myanmar (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (X tons) - each resulted at a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Cambodia (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest fruit supplier in ASEAN, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Philippines, with an X% share.

In Thailand, fruit exports increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (X% per year) and the Philippines (X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, waning by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

For the third consecutive year, ASEAN recorded decline in supplies from abroad of fruits, which decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fruit imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by X% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports by Country

The purchases of the six major importers of fruits, namely Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Brunei Darussalam (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

The import price in ASEAN stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of X%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2019; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while Brunei Darussalam ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
