Indonesia represented the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which resulted at 71% of total exports. Malaysia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Thailand (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 24% share of total exports. Singapore (X tons) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to gingerbread, sweet biscuit and waffle exports from Indonesia stood at +16.0%. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+2.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in ASEAN
In 2022, imports of gingerbread, sweet biscuits and waffles in ASEAN rose notably to X tons, increasing by 7.2% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports continue to indicate a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 28%. The volume of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, gingerbread, sweet biscuit and waffle imports totaled $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
