In 2021, the amount of grape juice (single strength) exported in ASEAN surged to X tons, rising by 62% compared with the year before. Overall, exports, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Thailand (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) was the largest exporter of grape juice (single strength) in ASEAN, comprising 96% of total export. Singapore (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of +38.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, the largest grape juice (single strength) supplying countries in ASEAN were Thailand ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Vietnam ($X), together accounting for 93% of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Thailand, with a CAGR of +39.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in ASEAN stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 7.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 20% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+7.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Imports of Grape Juice (Single Strength)
Imports in ASEAN
In 2021, overseas purchases of grape juice (single strength) were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, grape juice (single strength) imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 38%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Singapore (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) represented the main importer of grape juice (single strength) in ASEAN, creating 82% of total import. It was distantly followed by Cambodia (X tons) and the Philippines (X tons), together generating a 12% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Cambodia (with a CAGR of +9.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
In value terms, Indonesia ($X), Singapore ($X) and Thailand ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 64% of total imports. These countries were followed by Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Cambodia, which together accounted for a further 33%.
Among the main importing countries, Cambodia, with a CAGR of +6.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in ASEAN stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 15% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 24%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while Cambodia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+13.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
