The ASEAN inductor market was estimated at $X in 2022, with an increase of 4.8% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, recorded a buoyant increase. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the production volume increased by 176%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in ASEAN
In 2022, approx. X units of inductors were exported in ASEAN; falling by -5.5% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 42%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, inductor exports rose significantly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +54.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 44% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Singapore was the largest exporting country with an export of about X units, which finished at 39% of total exports. Vietnam (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 23% share, followed by the Philippines (14%), Thailand (8.8%), Malaysia (7.3%) and Indonesia (6.8%).
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Indonesia (with a CAGR of +49.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest inductor supplying countries in ASEAN were Singapore ($X), the Philippines ($X) and Vietnam ($X), together comprising 82% of total exports. Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.
Among the main exporting countries, Indonesia, with a CAGR of +13.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in ASEAN stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Export price indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, inductor export price increased by +101.8% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per unit), while Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Inductor Imports
Imports in ASEAN
After four years of growth, supplies from abroad of inductors decreased by -12.4% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 43%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, inductor imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +86.3% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Thailand (X units) was the largest importer of inductors, generating 64% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X units), Singapore (X units), Malaysia (X units) and Indonesia (X units), together mixing up a 33% share of total imports. The Philippines (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
Imports into Thailand increased at an average annual rate of +14.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Vietnam (+17.2%), Indonesia (+3.7%) and Malaysia (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +17.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Singapore (-6.5%) and the Philippines (-7.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Thailand (+32 p.p.) and Vietnam (+7.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore saw its share reduced by -2%, -3.5%, -9.3% and -24.4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X), Singapore ($X) and Thailand ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 81% of total imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +11.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in ASEAN stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible decrease. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
