Mixed Juices Market Size in ASEAN

The ASEAN mixed juices market fell slightly to $X in 2022, shrinking by -2.5% against the previous year. In general, consumption recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Mixed Juices Production in ASEAN

In value terms, mixed juices production shrank modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 12%. Over the period under review, production attained the peak level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports in ASEAN

In 2022, mixed juices exports in ASEAN amounted to X tons, remaining stable against the previous year's figure. In general, exports enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 37%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, mixed juices exports totaled $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 43%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Thailand dominates exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near 89% of total exports in 2022. The Philippines (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Thailand increased at an average annual rate of +12.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Vietnam (+15.0%) and Indonesia (+12.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +15.0% from 2012-2022. The Philippines experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Malaysia (-7.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Thailand (+20 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of the Philippines (-5.9 p.p.) and Malaysia (-12.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest mixed juices supplier in ASEAN, comprising 86% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Indonesia ($X), with a 3.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 3% share.

In Thailand, mixed juices exports expanded at an average annual rate of +15.3% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Indonesia (+23.0% per year) and Malaysia (-6.4% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 9.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while the Philippines ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+9.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices increased by 24% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mixed juices imports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a noticeable setback. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

The Philippines represented the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which recorded 44% of total imports. Malaysia (X tons) took a 16% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Singapore (13%), Lao People's Democratic Republic (12%) and Vietnam (5.8%). Cambodia (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.

Imports into the Philippines increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Vietnam (+5.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +5.4% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Lao People's Democratic Republic (-2.1%), Cambodia (-3.3%), Thailand (-4.3%), Singapore (-6.8%), Malaysia (-11.2%) and Indonesia (-16.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Philippines (+23 p.p.), Vietnam (+3.5 p.p.) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Singapore (-4.5 p.p.), Indonesia (-5 p.p.) and Malaysia (-18.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Philippines ($X), Singapore ($X) and Malaysia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 64% share of total imports.

The Philippines, with a CAGR of +7.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in ASEAN stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -7.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by 9.7%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then declined in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Lao People's Democratic Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+8.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
