The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 107% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Indonesia was the key exporter of mobile lifting frames on tyres and straddle carriers in ASEAN, with the volume of exports reaching X units, which was near 79% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Singapore (X units), committing a 15% share of total exports. Vietnam (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to mobile lifting frame exports from Indonesia stood at -8.2%. At the same time, Vietnam (+24.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Vietnam, with a CAGR of +23.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -56.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 82%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2020, and then declined markedly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+2.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in ASEAN
In 2021, approx. X units of mobile lifting frames on tyres and straddle carriers were imported in ASEAN; dropping by -68.8% on the previous year. Overall, imports saw a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 11% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, mobile lifting frame imports contracted notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Indonesia (X units) was the key importer of mobile lifting frames on tyres and straddle carriers, generating 45% of total imports. Singapore (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 19% share, followed by the Philippines (11%), Thailand (9.9%) and Vietnam (9.1%). The following importers - Myanmar (X units) and Malaysia (X units) - each resulted at a 5.9% share of total imports.
Imports into Indonesia decreased at an average annual rate of -17.6% from 2012 to 2021. Myanmar (-4.5%), the Philippines (-8.6%), Singapore (-16.9%), Thailand (-18.4%), Vietnam (-18.8%) and Malaysia (-27.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Philippines (+6.3 p.p.) and Myanmar (+2.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Malaysia saw its share reduced by -5.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Singapore ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Thailand ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 64% of total imports. The Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.
Among the main importing countries, Myanmar, with a CAGR of -4.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in ASEAN amounted to $X per unit, falling by -5.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a slight descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 24%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+2.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
