Non-Household Fan Market Size in ASEAN
The ASEAN non-household fan market reduced markedly to $X in 2022, shrinking by -19.4% against the previous year. The total consumption indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, consumption decreased by -28.4% against 2020 indices. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-household fan production surged to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production continues to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 180%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2021 to 2022, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in ASEAN
In 2022, after six years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of non-household ventilation fans, when their volume decreased by -10.6% to X units. In general, exports, however, showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, non-household fan exports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
Exports by Country
Vietnam represented the largest exporting country with an export of around X units, which reached 70% of total exports. Thailand (X units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Cambodia (X units) and Singapore (X units). All these countries together held approx. 28% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-household fan exports from Vietnam stood at +13.6%. At the same time, Cambodia (+200.6%), Thailand (+27.8%) and Singapore (+2.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Cambodia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +200.6% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Thailand and Cambodia increased by +11 and +6.1 percentage points, respectively.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X), Thailand ($X) and Singapore ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 72% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Cambodia, which accounted for a further 3%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Cambodia, with a CAGR of +86.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per unit, waning by -1.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by 35%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while Vietnam ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+7.5%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.
Non-Household Fan Imports
Imports in ASEAN
After six years of growth, purchases abroad of non-household ventilation fans decreased by -19.1% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 30%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2021, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, non-household fan imports fell notably to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +35.7% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.
Imports by Country
Thailand (X units), Vietnam (X units), Malaysia (X units) and Singapore (X units) represented roughly 96% of total imports in 2022. The following importers - the Philippines (X units) and Indonesia (X units) - each accounted for a 3.5% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by the Philippines (with a CAGR of +15.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest non-household fan importing markets in ASEAN were Malaysia ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Singapore ($X), together comprising 63% of total imports. Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.
In terms of the main importing countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +13.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in ASEAN stood at $X per unit in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 15%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per unit), while Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+4.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
