Nuts Market Size in ASEAN

In 2022, the average nuts yield in ASEAN declined to X tons per ha, reducing by X% on the previous year's figure. The yield figure increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the yield increased by X% against the previous year. In value terms, nuts exports fell sharply to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2022, Indonesia (X tons) represented the main exporter of nuts, mixing up X% of total exports. The following exporters - Cambodia (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) - each amounted to an X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to nuts exports from Indonesia stood at X%. At the same time, Myanmar (X%), Malaysia (X%) and Thailand (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of nuts were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports recorded a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, nuts imports rose slightly to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a pronounced increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Vietnam prevails in imports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Thailand (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to nuts imports into Vietnam stood at X%. At the same time, Thailand (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022.
