Malaysia dominates exports structure, finishing at X units, which was near 90% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Myanmar (X units), committing a 5.8% share of total exports. Singapore (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Malaysia decreased at an average annual rate of -5.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Myanmar (+71.3%) and Singapore (+5.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Myanmar emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +71.3% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Myanmar and Singapore increased by +5.8 and +1.5 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Malaysia ($X) remains the largest poultry incubator supplier in ASEAN, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Myanmar ($X), with a 5.6% share of total exports.

In Malaysia, poultry incubator exports decreased by an average annual rate of -4.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Myanmar (+128.6% per year) and Singapore (+2.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in ASEAN stood at $X per unit in 2022, shrinking by -5.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 16%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per unit), while Singapore ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt slump. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

By contrast, the Philippines (-5.7%), Thailand (-6.5%) and Malaysia (-14.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Vietnam (+10 p.p.), Myanmar (+1.8 p.p.) and the Philippines (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Malaysia (-6.8 p.p.) and Indonesia (-8.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported poultry incubators and brooders in ASEAN, comprising 40% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Philippines ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Vietnam, with a 16% share.

In Indonesia, poultry incubator imports decreased by an average annual rate of -6.7% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Philippines (-0.6% per year) and Vietnam (+17.7% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in ASEAN stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -2.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
