The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 33% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

For the third year in a row, ASEAN recorded growth in purchases abroad of prefabricated buildings of plastics, concrete or aluminium, which increased by 5.1% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports enjoyed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 74% against the previous year. Indonesia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the prefabricated buildings of plastics, concrete or aluminium imports, with a CAGR of +32.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Myanmar (+14.3%), Malaysia (+11.1%), the Philippines (+6.6%) and Thailand (+5.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Cambodia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Singapore (-11.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Indonesia (+55 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Cambodia (-3.4 p.p.), the Philippines (-3.9 p.p.), Thailand (-6 p.p.) and Singapore (-34.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported prefabricated buildings of plastics, concrete or aluminium in ASEAN, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Philippines ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 9.7% share.
In Indonesia, imports of prefabricated buildings of plastics, concrete or aluminium expanded at an average annual rate of +24.8% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Philippines (+17.3% per year) and Thailand (+2.7% per year).
