The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 14%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports rose sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 26%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Vietnam (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and the Philippines (X tons) represented roughly 96% of total imports in 2021. Cambodia (X tons) took a little share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of +15.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest non-reinforced rubber tubing importing markets in ASEAN were Vietnam ($X), Thailand ($X) and Malaysia ($X), together accounting for 66% of total imports. Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines and Cambodia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.
