The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 91% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, spray guns and similar appliances exports fell to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 38% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Thailand (X units) was the largest exporter of spray guns and similar appliances, achieving 68% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Malaysia (X units) and Singapore (X units), together constituting a 27% share of total exports. Vietnam (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Thailand increased at an average annual rate of +14.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Vietnam (+18.5%) and Singapore (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of +18.5% from 2012-2022. Malaysia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In terms of the main exporting countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +17.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in ASEAN stood at $X per unit in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 23%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per unit), while Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+1.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in ASEAN

In 2022, approx. X units of spray guns and similar appliances were imported in ASEAN; which is down by -8% compared with the previous year. Total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +64.5% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 16%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

Imports by Country

Indonesia (X units) and Vietnam (X units) were the main importers of spray guns and similar appliances in 2022, reaching approx. 34% and 31% of total imports, respectively. Malaysia (X units) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Thailand (X units). All these countries together held near 26% share of total imports. Cambodia (X units), Singapore (X units) and the Philippines (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Cambodia (with a CAGR of +20.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Thailand ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Malaysia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 77% share of total imports. Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines and Cambodia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.

The Philippines, with a CAGR of +22.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in ASEAN stood at $X per unit in 2022, shrinking by -4.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 7.8% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
