Exports by Country
The shipments of the three major exporters of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing, namely Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam, represented more than two-thirds of total export. Singapore (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Thailand (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 16% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of +96.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, the Philippines ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Malaysia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 79% of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +93.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, rising by 8.8% against the previous year. Export price indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, textile tubing export price decreased by -4.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+13.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in ASEAN
In 2022, supplies from abroad of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing decreased by -22.7% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after five years of growth. In general, imports showed a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, textile tubing imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 12%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Thailand (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Myanmar (X tons) represented roughly 91% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Singapore (X tons), constituting a 6% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Myanmar (with a CAGR of +39.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
In value terms, the largest textile tubing importing markets in ASEAN were Vietnam ($X), Thailand ($X) and Indonesia ($X), together comprising 58% of total imports. The Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 41%.
Myanmar, with a CAGR of +15.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+8.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
