Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, vulcanised cellular rubber articles exports reached $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 107%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Singapore (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) represented the major exporters of vulcanised cellular rubber articles for technical uses in ASEAN, together achieving 66% of total exports. Indonesia (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with an 18% share, followed by Malaysia (11%) and Vietnam (4.7%).

In 2021, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -17.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed pronounced growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the export price increased by 80% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2020, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Indonesia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+12.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.
Imports of Vulcanised Cellular Rubber Articles For Technical Uses
Imports in ASEAN
In 2021, the amount of vulcanised cellular rubber articles for technical uses imported in ASEAN fell to X tons, waning by -9.1% compared with 2020. Overall, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 158%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, vulcanised cellular rubber articles imports plummeted to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 180% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Malaysia (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) represented roughly 88% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Thailand (X tons), creating a 5.7% share of total imports. Cambodia (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Philippines (with a CAGR of +34.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Malaysia ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Vietnam ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 61% share of total imports. Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Cambodia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 38%.
Among the main importing countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +52.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in ASEAN amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -7.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 12%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Cambodia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
