Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a strong increase. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. The total output value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the production volume increased by 21%. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, the amount of agglomerated dolomite exported in Asia rose markedly to X tons, surging by 11% compared with the previous year. In general, exports, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 107%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, agglomerated dolomite exports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 50% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The United Arab Emirates was the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which recorded 61% of total exports. It was distantly followed by India (X tons) and Iran (X tons), together committing a 36% share of total exports.

The United Arab Emirates was also the fastest-growing in terms of the agglomerated dolomite exports, with a CAGR of +42.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Iran (+26.4%) and India (+22.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of the United Arab Emirates (+60 p.p.), India (+23 p.p.) and Iran (+10 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) remains the largest agglomerated dolomite supplier in Asia, comprising 48% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 22% share of total exports.

In the United Arab Emirates, agglomerated dolomite exports expanded at an average annual rate of +18.8% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: India (+16.2% per year) and Iran (+17.8% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, falling by -6.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 150%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (-5.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Asia

In 2022, purchases abroad of agglomerated dolomite decreased by -4.2% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 384% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, agglomerated dolomite imports shrank significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 355% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

India represented the major importer of agglomerated dolomite in Asia, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was approx. 58% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Kuwait (X tons) and Oman (X tons), together committing a 19% share of total imports. South Korea (X tons), Nepal (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

Imports into India increased at an average annual rate of +26.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Vietnam (+49.0%), Kuwait (+35.3%), South Korea (+28.4%), Oman (+7.4%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.0%) and Indonesia (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +49.0% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Nepal (-2.8%) and Malaysia (-5.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of India, Kuwait, South Korea, Oman and Vietnam increased by +51, +11, +3.9, +2.4 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X), South Korea ($X) and Kuwait ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 58% share of total imports. Taiwan (Chinese), Malaysia, Oman, Indonesia, Vietnam and Nepal lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.

Among the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +43.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -14.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 138% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while Nepal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+10.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
