In 2022, the Asian amplifier market decreased by -3.9% to $X, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 9.7% against the previous year. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.
Amplifier Production in Asia
In value terms, amplifier production contracted to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 14%. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2018 to 2022, production growth remained at a lower figure.

Exports in Asia
Amplifier exports dropped slightly to X units in 2022, declining by -2.2% on the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 25% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
In value terms, amplifier exports dropped slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
China prevails in exports structure, resulting at X units, which was approx. 79% of total exports in 2022. Japan (X units), Hong Kong SAR (X units), Singapore (X units), Vietnam (X units), Thailand (X units) and Malaysia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of amplifiers. At the same time, Japan (+19.8%), Vietnam (+13.0%), Singapore (+8.1%) and Thailand (+5.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Japan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +19.8% from 2012-2022. Malaysia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Hong Kong SAR (-5.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Japan (+3.2 p.p.), Vietnam (+2 p.p.) and Singapore (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while China and Hong Kong SAR saw its share reduced by -3.1% and -4% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest amplifier supplier in Asia, comprising 68% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($X), with a 5.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 5.6% share.
In China, amplifier exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (+13.4% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (-4.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, the export price saw a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 13% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per unit), while Singapore ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+2.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Asia
In 2022, imports of amplifiers in Asia shrank to X units, which is down by -9.1% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, amplifier imports fell to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 17%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
The countries with the highest levels of amplifier imports in 2022 were Thailand (X units), Japan (X units), Singapore (X units), India (X units) and China (X units), together recording 60% of total import. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X units), Malaysia (X units), Hong Kong SAR (X units) and South Korea (X units), together comprising a 22% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +17.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), Japan ($X) and South Korea ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 53% of total imports. Hong Kong SAR, India, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.
Vietnam, with a CAGR of +17.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 4.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per unit), while Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
