China dominates exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was approx. 97% of total exports in 2021. Japan (X tons) held a little share of total exports.
Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +40.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Japan (+42.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, aniline imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a strong increase. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
India prevails in imports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. 80% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by South Korea (X tons), making up an 8.2% share of total imports. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Israel (X tons) and Japan (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
Imports into India increased at an average annual rate of +23.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Israel (+58.2%), Singapore (+10.6%) and Japan (+5.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +58.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Taiwan (Chinese) (-4.7%) and South Korea (-5.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of India and Israel increased by +48 and +1.5 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives) in Asia, comprising 80% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($X), with a 6.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 4.5% share.
In India, aniline imports increased at an average annual rate of +20.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (-6.4% per year) and Singapore (+11.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 50% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight curtailment. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Israel ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
