In 2021, Tajikistan (X tons) represented the largest exporter of antimony ores and concentrates, constituting 42% of total exports. Turkey (X tons) held a 24% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Thailand (17%) and Myanmar (8.2%). The following exporters - China (X tons), India (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) - together made up 6.7% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of +23.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Turkey ($X) emerged as the largest antimony ore and concentrate supplier in Asia, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Tajikistan ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey amounted to +6.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Tajikistan (-10.1% per year) and Thailand (+0.9% per year).

In value terms, antimony ore and concentrate imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 38% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
China represented the major importer of antimony ores and concentrates in Asia, with the volume of imports reaching X tons, which was approx. 65% of total imports in 2021. Vietnam (X tons) took an 11% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Thailand (11%) and India (9.8%).
Imports into China decreased at an average annual rate of -7.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Vietnam (+39.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +39.8% from 2012-2021. India experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported antimony ores and concentrates in Asia, comprising 68% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Thailand ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a 9.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China amounted to -6.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Thailand (+17.8% per year) and India (-4.4% per year).
