The Asian antimony oxides market skyrocketed to $X in 2022, with an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons, and then declined markedly in the following year.

In value terms, antimony oxides exports rose slightly to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+0.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of antimony oxides decreased by -6.3% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, antimony oxides imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a slight expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 60%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

The countries with the highest levels of antimony oxides imports in 2022 were Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), India (X tons), Japan (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons), together amounting to 91% of total import.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +15.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest antimony oxides importing markets in Asia were India ($X), Japan ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a combined 49% share of total imports. South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +14.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by 55% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
