Total imports indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The countries with the highest levels of aromatic polyamines imports in 2021 were South Korea (X tons), Japan (X tons), Thailand (X tons), India (X tons), China (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Turkey (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Vietnam (X tons) and Pakistan (X tons), together recording 95% of total import.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Pakistan (with a CAGR of +23.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, South Korea ($X), Japan ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 51% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Thailand, China, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Taiwan (Chinese) and Vietnam, which together accounted for a further 44%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Pakistan, with a CAGR of +28.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by 16%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($X per ton), while Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
