Ball Market Size in Asia
The Asian ball market declined to $X in 2022, reducing by -6.1% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, showed a perceptible descent. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Ball Production in Asia
In value terms, ball production fell slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, showed a pronounced decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 10%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production remained at a lower figure.

Ball exports surged to X units in 2022, picking up by 29% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a modest increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 137%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, ball exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) represented the main exporter of balls, creating 77% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Thailand (X units), making up an 11% share of total exports. Pakistan (X units) and Vietnam (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to ball exports from China stood at +1.4%. At the same time, Pakistan (+7.7%), Vietnam (+7.7%) and Thailand (+3.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Pakistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +7.7% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Thailand and Pakistan increased by +1.9 and +1.9 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest ball supplier in Asia, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Pakistan ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with an 8.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in China amounted to +2.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Pakistan (+9.1% per year) and Thailand (+1.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 15% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a moderate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the export price increased by 102%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+9.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Asia
In 2022, approx. X units of balls were imported in Asia; rising by 27% compared with the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, ball imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the eight major importers of balls, namely South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam, India, China, Taiwan (Chinese) and the United Arab Emirates, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Bangladesh (X units), Thailand (X units), the Philippines (X units), Indonesia (X units) and Iraq (X units) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +21.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Japan ($X), South Korea ($X) and Malaysia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 43% share of total imports. China, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan (Chinese), India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Iraq, the Philippines and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.
Among the main importing countries, China, with a CAGR of +12.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per unit, waning by -2.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 16%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per unit), while Vietnam ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
