For the eleventh consecutive year, the Asian blueberry and cranberry market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 15% to $X in 2022. Overall, consumption continues to indicate a remarkable increase. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2022, overseas shipments of blueberries and cranberries decreased by -7.7% to X tons for the first time since 2015, thus ending a six-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 150% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, blueberry and cranberry exports shrank to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw significant growth. Hong Kong SAR prevails in exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 88% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Georgia (X tons), creating a 6% share of total exports. Lebanon (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Hong Kong SAR increased at an average annual rate of +52.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Georgia (+134.9%) and Lebanon (+23.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Georgia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +134.9% from 2012-2022. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, blueberry and cranberry imports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a significant increase. In terms of the main importing countries, Israel, with a CAGR of +96.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, remaining constant against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a slight setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the import price increased by 9.9% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
