Over the period under review, the exports of attained the maximum at X square meters in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced totaled $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports of remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, China (X square meters) was the largest exporter of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Turkey (+9.1% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-7.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per square meter, picking up by 6.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the export price increased by 8.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per square meter), while Saudi Arabia ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 19% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X square meters in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, imports of boards, sheets, panels, tiles and similar articles of plaster not faced expanded significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 14%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
India (X square meters), the United Arab Emirates (X square meters) and Mongolia (X square meters) represented roughly 52% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Hong Kong SAR (X square meters), the Philippines (X square meters) and Kazakhstan (X square meters), together creating a 16% share of total imports. The following importers - Iraq (X square meters), South Korea (X square meters), Malaysia (X square meters), Myanmar (X square meters) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X square meters) - together made up 15% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Mongolia (with a CAGR of +91.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), India ($X) and the Philippines ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 37% of total imports. Mongolia, South Korea, Hong Kong SAR, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Myanmar and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
Mongolia, with a CAGR of +57.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia stood at $X per square meter in 2021, rising by 6.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 9.7%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per square meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per square meter), while Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+7.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
