The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 25%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

At the same time, Kazakhstan (+39.3%), Uzbekistan (+28.4%), Lao People's Democratic Republic (+22.4%), Vietnam (+10.3%), South Korea (+3.9%) and Malaysia (+2.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +39.3% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Iran (-9.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Uzbekistan (+11 p.p.) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (+3.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Iran saw its share reduced by -7.9% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In China, cabbage exports expanded at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Uzbekistan (+31.5% per year) and Lao People's Democratic Republic (+17.4% per year).
