The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, calcium carbonate exports soared to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Turkey (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) were the largest exporters of calcium carbonate in 2021, resulting at near 28% and 23% of total exports, respectively. In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported calcium carbonate in Asia, comprising 33% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Indonesia ($X), with an 8.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with an 8.9% share.

In India, calcium carbonate imports increased at an average annual rate of +10.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Indonesia (+4.1% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+4.2% per year).
