The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 10% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, carrot and turnip exports soared to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest carrot and turnip supplier in Asia, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 6.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 3.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China stood at +6.2%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (-3.6% per year) and Turkey (+7.5% per year).

The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 12% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 23%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Kyrgyzstan, with a CAGR of +115.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, stabilizing at the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 11%.
