From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to cereal germ exports from Indonesia stood at +2.3%. At the same time, India (+5.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +5.7% from 2012-2021. China and Taiwan (Chinese) experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-17.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Indonesia (+19 p.p.) and India (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Kazakhstan saw its share reduced by -14.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Indonesia ($X) remains the largest cereal germ supplier in Asia, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by China, with a 6.2% share.

In Indonesia, cereal germ exports shrank by an average annual rate of -2.8% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: India (+9.0% per year) and China (+1.8% per year).

The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 9.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a pronounced setback. In 2021, cereal germ imports in Asia skyrocketed to X tons, picking up by 31% compared with the previous year's figure. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +64.0% against 2018 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
