In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, growing by 2.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the export price increased by 30%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per ton), while Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+6.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of cereal pellets (excluding wheat) were finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Singapore (X tons) held a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by the United Arab Emirates (8.3%) and Myanmar (7.5%). The following importers - the Philippines (X tons), Kuwait (X tons), Iraq (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons) and Yemen (X tons) - together made up 16% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Singapore (with a CAGR of +23.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Japan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cereal pellets (excluding wheat) in Asia, comprising 36% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 14% share.

In Japan, non-wheat cereal pellets imports increased at an average annual rate of +19.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+7.3% per year) and Singapore (+14.5% per year).
