In 2021, China (X tons) was the major exporter of chlorides (excluding ammonium chloride), committing 75% of total exports. It was distantly followed by India (X tons), achieving a 15% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

In 2021, Japan (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons), India (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Oman (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) was the largest importer of chlorides (excluding ammonium chloride) in Asia, creating 81% of total import.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Kuwait (with a CAGR of +20.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Japan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported chlorides (excluding ammonium chloride) in Asia, comprising 17% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 7.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 7.5% share.
