In value terms, Iran ($X), Turkey ($X) and China ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 76% share of total exports. Afghanistan, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Afghanistan, with a CAGR of +37.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 6.6% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported marble and travertine in Asia, comprising 53% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Pakistan, with a 4.6% share.

In China, marble and travertine crude imports shrank by an average annual rate of -17.2% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (-12.5% per year) and Pakistan (+39.0% per year).

In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 5.2% against the previous year. Import price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade.
