The market value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. In 2021, China (X tons) represented the key exporter of egg products, achieving 38% of total exports. It was distantly followed by India (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), together creating a 43% share of total exports. Vietnam (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Kuwait (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Kuwait (with a CAGR of +41.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), India ($X) and Thailand ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 79% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese), Vietnam, Malaysia and Kuwait lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 14%.
Kuwait, with a CAGR of +36.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, stabilizing at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 15%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while Kuwait ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+2.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, imports of egg products in Asia surged to X tons, increasing by 24% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a noticeable slump. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, egg product imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Japan represented the main importer of egg products in Asia, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was near 39% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Thailand (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons), South Korea (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons), together mixing up a 27% share of total imports. Indonesia (X tons), Singapore (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Oman (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Qatar (X tons), Cyprus (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to egg product imports into Japan stood at +1.1%. At the same time, Thailand (+19.9%), Vietnam (+14.6%), the Philippines (+8.2%), Singapore (+6.1%), South Korea (+5.1%), Indonesia (+4.7%), Cyprus (+3.7%) and Hong Kong SAR (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +19.9% from 2012-2021. Taiwan (Chinese) experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Oman (-2.8%), the United Arab Emirates (-9.4%) and Qatar (-23.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong SAR and Indonesia increased by +9.4, +6.2, +3, +2.5, +2.3, +2.1, +2.1 and +2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Japan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported egg products in Asia, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a 7.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a 5.9% share.
In Japan, egg product imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+5.1% per year) and Indonesia (+3.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 4.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when the import price increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
