Moreover, Syrian Arab Republic emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +65.7% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Kazakhstan (-2.6%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-15.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the United Arab Emirates (+4.3 p.p.), Thailand (+3.8 p.p.), Kuwait (+3.4 p.p.), Oman (+2.8 p.p.), Syrian Arab Republic (+2.5 p.p.), India (+2 p.p.) and Malaysia (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Kazakhstan (-5.1 p.p.) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-10.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
