Turkey prevails in exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near 84% of total exports in 2021. Thailand (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by India (X tons). All these countries together took near 12% share of total exports. China (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

Turkey was also the fastest-growing in terms of the feldspar exports, with a CAGR of +13.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Thailand (+4.4%) and India (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, China (-5.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Turkey (+19 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of India (-4.3 p.p.), Thailand (-4.3 p.p.) and China (-8.4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Turkey ($X) remains the largest feldspar supplier in Asia, comprising 80% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with an 8.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 4.7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey totaled +15.7%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: India (+4.9% per year) and Thailand (+4.7% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the export price increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2017; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

In value terms, feldspar imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Bangladesh represented the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which resulted at 35% of total imports. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Indonesia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons). All these countries together held near 48% share of total imports. The following importers - Malaysia (X tons) and China (X tons) - each reached a 5.7% share of total imports.

In value terms, the largest feldspar importing markets in Asia were Bangladesh ($X), Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) and Vietnam ($X), together accounting for 45% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +12.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, rising by 5.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 8.6% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
