The Asian furnace burner market dropped to $X in 2021, reducing by -7.7% against the previous year. In general, consumption continues to indicate a mild descent. Over the period under review, the market attained the peak level at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, approx. X tons of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers were exported in Asia; surging by 4% against the year before. Overall, exports, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 23% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, furnace burner exports contracted to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 18% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

China was the key exporter of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers in Asia, with the volume of exports finishing at X tons, which was near 59% of total exports in 2021. Turkey (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by India (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons). All these countries together took near 26% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), South Korea (X tons) and Japan (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to furnace burner exports from China stood at -7.0%. At the same time, Turkey (+16.3%), the United Arab Emirates (+11.8%) and India (+10.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +16.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Taiwan (Chinese) (-2.7%), South Korea (-8.5%) and Japan (-11.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+9.8 p.p.), India (+5.5 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (+4.9 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while South Korea, Japan and China saw its share reduced by -1.8%, -2.5% and -17.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest furnace burner supplier in Asia, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Turkey ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Japan, with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China stood at -1.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Turkey (+14.7% per year) and Japan (-11.5% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -15.5% against the previous year. Export price indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, furnace burner export price increased by +33.5% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 50% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then shrank notably in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+7.6%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers decreased by -43.1% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then declined significantly in the following year.

In value terms, furnace burner imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 19%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Indonesia was the key importer of furnace burners, mechanical stokers, mechanical grates and mechanical ash dischargers in Asia, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was approx. 42% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by China (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons), together committing a 25% share of total imports. The following importers - Kazakhstan (X tons), South Korea (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons), India (X tons), Japan (X tons), Uzbekistan (X tons), Pakistan (X tons) and Iraq (X tons) - together made up 20% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to furnace burner imports into Indonesia stood at +13.5%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+60.6%), Pakistan (+23.2%), Japan (+10.2%), Iraq (+5.5%), Turkey (+3.1%) and Malaysia (+2.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +60.6% from 2012-2021. Kazakhstan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-2.1%), South Korea (-3.3%), India (-4.2%) and China (-7.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Pakistan increased by +28, +1.9, +1.6 and +1.5 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest furnace burner importing markets in Asia were China ($X), Turkey ($X) and Indonesia ($X), together comprising 45% of total imports. South Korea, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, India, Japan, Iraq, Pakistan and Uzbekistan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.

Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +69.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 42%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Indonesia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+7.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
