In value terms, glass fibre mat exports shrank significantly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +4.4% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 35%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

China prevails in exports structure, reaching X tons, which was near 80% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), making up an 8.4% share of total exports. South Korea (X tons) and India (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the glass fibre mats exports, with a CAGR of +13.5% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Taiwan (Chinese) (+4.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, South Korea (-4.9%) and India (-6.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of China increased by +32 percentage points.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by India (with a CAGR of +21.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 2.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the import price increased by 17%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($X per ton), while Kazakhstan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
