Vietnam prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was near 91% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Sri Lanka (X tons), comprising a 6% share of total exports. Bangladesh (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 78% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a slight decrease. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bangladesh ($X per ton), while Vietnam ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bangladesh (+175.9%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Asia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of herring, salted or in brine decreased by -10.1% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports showed a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 25%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Israel prevails in imports structure, recording X tons, which was near 72% of total imports in 2022. Palestine (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Jordan (X tons) and Turkmenistan (X tons). All these countries together held near 22% share of total imports.
Imports into Israel increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Palestine (+10.7%) and Jordan (+4.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Palestine emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +10.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Turkmenistan (-21.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Israel (+29 p.p.), Palestine (+7 p.p.) and Jordan (+4.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Turkmenistan (-32.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Israel ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported herring, salted or in brine in Asia, comprising 74% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Jordan ($X), with a 7.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Palestine, with a 6.7% share.
In Israel, herring, salted or in brine imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Jordan (+3.4% per year) and Palestine (+4.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, waning by -4.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable reduction.
