In value terms, homogenised jam and marmalade exports reached $X in 2022. Total exports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +24.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 23%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Thailand prevails in exports structure, recording X tons, which was approx. 79% of total exports in 2022. Turkey (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons), China (X tons) and India (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.
Exports from Thailand increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Hong Kong SAR (+34.7%), India (+14.2%) and Turkey (+1.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hong Kong SAR emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +34.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, China (-11.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Thailand and Hong Kong SAR increased by +23 and +2.4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Thailand ($X) remains the largest homogenised jam and marmalade supplier in Asia, comprising 69% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a 7.6% share of total exports. It was followed by China, with a 5.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Thailand stood at +6.3%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+37.7% per year) and China (-2.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -6.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 22%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+10.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Asia
After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of homogenised preparations of jams, fruit jellies and marmalades decreased by -10.9% to X tons in 2022. Total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +18.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 41%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, homogenised jam and marmalade imports reduced to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +1.8% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 42%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Kazakhstan (X tons), distantly followed by China (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons), Israel (X tons), Mongolia (X tons) and Hong Kong SAR (X tons) represented the major importers of homogenised preparations of jams, fruit jellies and marmalades, together generating 70% of total imports. The following importers - Iran (X tons), Iraq (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Uzbekistan (X tons), Kuwait (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) - together made up 18% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +87.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), China ($X) and Israel ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 54% of total imports. Hong Kong SAR, the United Arab Emirates, Mongolia, Taiwan (Chinese), Uzbekistan, Kuwait, Turkey, Malaysia, Iran and Iraq lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.
Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +94.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 32% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Iraq ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
