At the same time, Vietnam (+26.5%), the United Arab Emirates (+15.3%), Pakistan (+13.8%), Turkey (+11.3%), India (+8.0%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+6.5%), Singapore (+5.7%) and Malaysia (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +26.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, South Korea (-3.4%), Hong Kong SAR (-9.9%) and Thailand (-12.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Turkey (+8 p.p.), India (+5.7 p.p.), Singapore (+3.3 p.p.), Pakistan (+2 p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (+1.9 p.p.), Vietnam (+1.7 p.p.), Malaysia (+1.6 p.p.) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Thailand, Hong Kong SAR and China saw its share reduced by -2.3%, -3.2% and -21% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported horizontal machining centres for working metal in Asia, comprising 60% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a 7.6% share.

In China, horizontal machining centre imports declined by an average annual rate of -8.0% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+7.9% per year) and India (-0.5% per year).
