Total exports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -6.0% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 71%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hydrogen fluoride exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -13.7% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 44%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. China prevails in exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 85% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), creating a 6.7% share of total exports. Japan (X tons), South Korea (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, South Korea (+28.2%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+21.5%) and Singapore (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Korea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +28.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Japan (-8.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Taiwan (Chinese), China and South Korea increased by +5.1, +2.5 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest hydrogen fluoride supplier in Asia, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with an 8.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Japan, with a 5.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in China totaled +4.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (+21.6% per year) and Japan (-6.5% per year).
