In value terms, China ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Turkey ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 73% share of total exports. Hong Kong SAR, India, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.

India, with a CAGR of +9.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 5.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the export price increased by 19% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Hong Kong SAR (+6.5 p.p.), Thailand (+5.7 p.p.), Oman (+5.2 p.p.), China (+4.5 p.p.) and South Korea (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while the United Arab Emirates and Japan saw its share reduced by -1.6% and -2.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported polishes and creams for wooden furniture and floors in Asia, comprising 36% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($X), with a 6.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 5.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China totaled +3.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (-4.2% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (+4.5% per year).
