The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 39%. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, machine-tool for working wood exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed buoyant growth. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) was the major exporter of machine-tools for working wood, committing 77% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), constituting a 17% share of total exports. Turkey (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the machine-tools for working wood exports, with a CAGR of +25.6% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Turkey (+10.4%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+7.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2021, the share of China increased by +36 percentage points.

In China, machine-tool for working wood exports increased at an average annual rate of +14.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Taiwan (Chinese) (+9.1% per year) and Turkey (+9.2% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, leveling off at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 6.3% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.7%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, purchases abroad of machine-tools for working wood increased by 21% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, saw a slight downturn. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, machine-tool for working wood imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 17%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The purchases of the twelve major importers of machine-tools for working wood, namely Vietnam, Indonesia, Turkey, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Thailand, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Kazakhstan (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +16.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -4.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 9.2% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.
