In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per unit, falling by -16.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 18% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

India (X units), Iran (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units), Turkey (X units), China (X units), Vietnam (X units), South Korea (X units), Malaysia (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), Thailand (X units), Indonesia (X units) and Singapore (X units) represented roughly 88% of total imports in 2021.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Iran (with a CAGR of +28.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), India ($X) and Vietnam ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 43% of total imports. These countries were followed by Turkey, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Iran, Taiwan (Chinese), Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand, which together accounted for a further 43%.
Among the main importing countries, South Korea, with a CAGR of +14.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -9.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 10%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while Iran ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
