Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a pronounced increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 44%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, solid-liquid separator exports reached $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 24%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Exports by Country

China represented the key exporter of machinery for solid-liquid separation in Asia, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was near 56% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Japan (X units) and South Korea (X units), together committing a 26% share of total exports. Turkey (X units), India (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units) and Singapore (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to solid-liquid separator exports from China stood at +13.6%. India, with a CAGR of +15.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -23.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the export price increased by 101% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates (less than $X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+18.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

South Korea (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Indonesia (9.5%), India (9.2%), Taiwan (Chinese) (6.5%), Turkey (5.3%) and Vietnam (4.7%). Japan (X units), the United Arab Emirates (X units), Malaysia (X units), Iraq (X units) and Hong Kong SAR (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into China increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Vietnam (+16.2%), Hong Kong SAR (+16.1%), India (+13.5%), South Korea (+11.4%), Indonesia (+5.5%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.4%), Turkey (+3.9%) and Iraq (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +16.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Malaysia (-2.5%), Japan (-3.5%) and the United Arab Emirates (-3.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of South Korea (+6.1 p.p.), India (+5.6 p.p.), Vietnam (+3.3 p.p.) and Indonesia (+1.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-2.7 p.p.), Japan (-3.5 p.p.) and China (-6.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported machinery for solid-liquid separation in Asia, comprising 36% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Korea ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese), with a 7.3% share.

In China, solid-liquid separator imports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (+7.4% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+6.1% per year).
