The following exporters - Vietnam (X units), Turkey (X units) and Indonesia (X units) - together made up 7.5% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to mattresses other than of cellular rubber or plastics exports from China stood at +3.6%. At the same time, Vietnam (+53.1%), Indonesia (+24.0%) and Turkey (+13.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +53.1% from 2012-2022. By contrast, India (-3.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, China ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Turkey ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 66% share of total exports. Vietnam and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.
Vietnam, with a CAGR of +35.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -22.8% against the previous year. Export price indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for mattresses other than of cellular rubber or plastics decreased by -36.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. Imports into Qatar increased at an average annual rate of +45.5% from 2012 to 2022. Moreover, Myanmar emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +52.4% from 2012-2022. Hong Kong SAR and South Korea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Qatar, Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar and India increased by +25, +4.8, +3.8, +2.5 and +2.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Japan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported mattresses other than of cellular rubber or plastics in Asia, comprising 34% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Korea ($X), with a 7.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 7.4% share.
In Japan, imports of mattresses other than of cellular rubber or plastics expanded at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (+1.4% per year) and Singapore (+0.8% per year).
