In China, video monitor exports expanded at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Japan (-1.5% per year) and Vietnam (+40.3% per year).

In value terms, Japan ($X), South Korea ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 37% of total imports. India, Hong Kong SAR, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Turkey, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 45%.
Turkey, with a CAGR of +9.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per unit, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the import price increased by 9.4% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while the Philippines ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
